- Can I register with a friend/partner/parent who is not a member of VA?
- Only members of VA can register and attend the retreat.
- Can I commute back and forth from my Home or from a Hotel or Air BnB and receive a reduced rate?
- No. You can commute but it’s the same fee as the entire retreat.
- What are the sleeping Accommodations?
- There are two bunk houses, One for Men and One for Women. Each of the bunk houses sleeps 12.
- There are several rooms in each bunkhouse and in each room there is a bunk bed and one to two queen beds. There will be several people per room and everyone in the bunk house has access to communal bathrooms and showers. There are no private rooms available.
- Do I need to bring my own linens? My own soap and shampoo?
- Towels and linens are provided to make your stay comfortable. Please bring all toiletries you’ll need including soap and shampoo.
- If I am sleeping in the Bunkhouse, can I request a specific bunk?
- In the online registration there is a “disability accommodation” portion on the form where you can specifically type in a request for a top bunk or bottom bunk. While we will be able to accommodate a top bunk or bottom bunk preference, the bunk rooms are on a first-come, first-serve basis and specific bunk rooms cannot be reserved.
- Can I bring my own food?
- Yes, there is a refrigerator there for people who have special diets.
- Do I receive a reduced rate if I bring my own food?
- No, the retreat is all-inclusive, even if you bring your own food.
- Can I come for one day only and just pay for that day?
- The conference and retreat has been designed as an immersive experience and we highly recommend attending for the full time.
- Can I come to the meetings and not stay or have meals at the retreat center?
- A big part of the retreat is fellowship, living together, and sharing meals.
We recommend attending the whole event – it’s a great way to bolster your recovery and support Violence Anonymous.

- Are there scholarships? How do scholarships work?
- Yes there are limited full and partial needs-based scholarships for anyone in VA who’d like to attend but can’t afford it. The scholarship covers the cost of the event (transportation to and from the conference and retreat are not covered). To apply for the scholarship, go to the event registration page and click on one of the three options:
1. “Women’s Bunk House Registration”
2. “Men’s Bunk House Registration”
3. “Offsite Accomodation Registration”
This will take you to the applicable registration page. Once there, fill out all the fields and at the bottom when you get to the “Registration Fee” Field, put in the amount you can afford (if you need a partial scholarship) or $0.00 (if you need a full scholarship). This will take you to a “Thank You for Registering” Page where you can click to pay what you can afford.

- Is there a Zoom Option for attending the Conference and Retreat?
- Yes. Zoom will be available and the cost to attend via Zoom is $35.00. Please be aware, the Zoom option is not a professional service. This means that each day, the number of meetings that will be offered via zoom will be limited, and VA members will be doing the best they can to provide the Zoom experience. Funds collected will help cover additional accounts that may be needed to connect more than one meeting at a time.
